Yes, it IS surprising that Twellman didn't get the nod. Ching four goals in the opener may have boosted his stock in Arena's eyes, Brian, arguably wasn't playing the caliber of competition he would face in Germany. Yes, we don't know how Twellman would fare, but I think he would have risen to the occasion.

I believe Twellman's exclusion is a bit of a surprise, but not outside the limits of reason. Ching's been on a tear recently and I believe it was his four goals in the MLS opener for Houston that won him his spot.

Bob, I agree w/ you on Conrad over Berhalter... that is sort of wierd!

I guess what I meant by surprise was somebody out of the blue, or someone out of Nike- like Adu. :-)

Ching, Olsen and Conrad would have been considered surprises about 72 hours ago.

What do you mean no surprises...! Ching is there and no Twellman.

Aside from that its a solid team - the best in a long time.
