Gallas in self goal ruckus

After Chelsea acquired Ashley Cole in part-exchange for William Gallas the club alleged that Gallas threatened to score an own goal or get himself sent off if selected for Chelsea’s opening game of the season against Manchester City.If true Gallas may well have scored the mother of all self goals....
However Gallas has denied the claims and accused Chelsea of 'lacking class'.
And PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor has supported the French defender, insisting that the whole affair was entirely unnecessary.

"Why do they have to wash their dirty linen in public? I do not see what purpose it serves," said Taylor.All the mud slinging is just making football a dirtier game
