Sergio Aragones to be sacked: Spain crashes out against N.Ireland
The rumblings begin. Spain's woes keep getting worse, a downward spiral that began in the World Cup, after getting beat by France. At that time Aragones was reported to have considered resigning or even retiring but he stayed on.
David Healy scored a hat trick in a match that shattered Spain, 3-2 and Aragones feeling the heavy breathing of the Spanish Football Federation, at the back of his neck. Healy showed that he is an equal opportunity offender as he scored the matchwinner against England last year, in the World Cup qualifier.
The result has left Aragones, who saw his side crash out of the World Cup finals in the second round, fearing for his future.
"I would not be surprised if the Spanish federation looked at this result and considered my position," the glum-faced coach said.
