Barthez says goodbye

France's most garlanded goalkeeper Barthez follows Zidane into retirement . He made the announcement on French television channel TF1.
"I am quitting the French team. I am quitting club football," he said.
Some believe that France won the 1998 World Cup because Laurent Blanc planted a kiss on Fabien Barthez's bald head before each game. Apart from the bald head and great goalkeeping he also more than justified the old saying that all goalkeepers are slightly crazy !
Elsewhere in France a lawyer is going to the courts to contest Zinedine Zidane's World Cup final red card!
