I think that would be a bit drastic considering that Real has gotten through. Plus, Ruud has been great for Real this season. Here is an interview from him on the RealMadrid website

Would anyone mind telling me, if Ruud Van Nistelrooy was pulled from the game because of that silly PK, over the crossbar of Steau Bucharest? Thx. Haven't seen anything in print, but know that right afterwards, he was taken out of the game.
