McClaren loses another one

The list of McClaren's walking wounded is growing.Steven Gerrard has joined Rooney on the sidelines with a hairline fracture of his big toe.Henry Winter writing in the Telegraph fears worse when he says ."A beach has been built this summer in the walled garden of England's elegant Hertfordshire hotel and, given Steve McClaren's current scarcity of luck, one of his players will probably trip over a sandcastle, get trapped in a deckchair or stung by a stray jellyfish when the squad gather on Monday."
However injured toe or not Steven Gerrard will nevertheless be playing against Chelsea on Sunday. But he won't be playing for England in a friendly against Germany three days later.I'm not sure if that's putting the cart before the horse but Benitez says he is sure McClaren won't miss Gerrard that much and that he will understand.
