Rooney out for the count

Bad news for England and Manchester United.Rooney has a hairline fracture in his left foot. Thus England who face crucial Euro 2008 qualifiers against Israel on September 8 and Russia, four days later, at Wembley - will have to do without him.The injury occured when Reading defender Michael Duberry had accidentally landed on his foot as the pair challenged for the ball in the area. This is the third time that Rooney has gone and broken something -having already suffered two broken metatarsals in his career.
