The Sunday Times list of richest sportsmen sees David Beckham at the top with a personal fortune of approximately £125 million.The next footballer in the top 20 is Michael Owen whose fortune stands at a measly £40 million in comparision.
And here's the secret of his success - as revealed to Elmo ( the red furry monster with an orange nose)

So now you know how he does it ."Persistence pays" is the secret mantra.And of course a teeny weeny bit of advertising every now and then also helps.So here's Beck's adding to his already incredible fortune by advertising the latest in mobile phones created by Motorola.
