The Swedes inability to deal with England's corner kicks proved their undoing. Martin Crainie, Nedum Onuoha, and a Mattias Bjarsmyr own goal came from corners taken by James Milner. England led 3-0 at halftime. It looked like they were coasting to the finals. Till the Swedes unleashed the second half. Two goals by Marcus Berg and a Ola Toivonen free kick restored parity. Extra time came and went but did not yield a result with the two teams still deadlocked.
