Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia has stressed for Arsenal to make an important start in the upcoming 2009/10 season. Arsenal lost 5 of their first 14 matches of the Premier League last season - thus making the Gunners chasing 4th place let alone going for the title.

Manuel states "Overall we needed to be more focused at the start of the season," in the July edition of the official Arsenal magazine".

Arsenal's first 5 Premier League games of the following season are:

Everton vs Arsenal
Arsenal vs Portsmouth
Man Utd vs Arsenal
Man City vs Arsenal
Arsenal vs Wigan

The two tricky away games in Manchester will be vital for the Gunners.

So much of the transfers (Felipe Melo, Marouane Chamakh) are centered around the selling of Adebayor, it is a shame that we give this guy so much attention even off the pitch. I really think he needs to go.

well it's stating the blooming obvious but Arsenal do need a better start to the season if they are to compete - I think they could be serious contenders next season although I would have preferred it if Adebayour had been sold on and a great new striker could have been brought in
