In form striker Ali Gerba scores the all important goal in the 32nd minute, a deflection of Patrice Bernier shot at goal.which gave Canada a 1-0 win over El Salvador. This was Gerba's 5th goal in 4 matches for Canada.
The Canadians now only need a tie against Costa Rica to advance.to the quarterfinals..
