Well deserved. There is also the improper conduct charge which is still pending. Adebayor did not contest the violent conduct charge. He is expected to defend himself on the improper conduct charge by putting the onus on the fans.

Cesc Fabregas also reveals that Adebayor gashed him on the calf.

"I think this is a red card here. I was lucky my foot was in the air when it happened."

Emannuel Eboue wasn't exactly complimentary either of his old team mate. And here is Gabriele Marcotti nitpicking RVP's statement having problems with juxtaposing mindless and malicious.

Maybe a better word would have been heedless but seeing the video one gets RVP: It was mindless and malicious. It was mindless because it served no purpose other than the intent to hurt. RVP might have tackled Ade hard but I don't recall him trying to stamp someone's face. A former team mate causing harm and then offering no apology following the match? It is good he spoke up.

Adebayor will miss the derby at Old Trafford, the Carling Cup fixture against Fulham, and a Premier League match against West Ham. Meanwhile Mark Hughes already has Robinho and Roque Santa Cruz on the injury list. Carlos Tevez with his knee injury might just about make an appearance against his old side.
