That is right. In 2008, the Galaxy gave up 62 goals even as they set the scoring ablaze with 55 goals.
The Galaxy defense with goalies Steve Cronin, Josh Saunders, and Josh Wicks gave up over 2 goals a game.
In comparison, with tight fisted Donovan Ricketts in goal and rookies AJ DeLaGarza and Omar Gonzalez, LA gave up just about a goal a game in 2009.
The completely revamped Galaxy defense also included Galaxy returnee Todd Dunivant and TSV 1860 Munich defender Gregg Berhalter.
While Landon Donovan and David Beckham preen, give it up for the unheralded Galaxy defense. They are the true heroes!
