Arsenal breaks its silence on RVP's injury

A brief statement on Arsenal's website updates RVP's status. He will be traveling back to London this week and resuming his care with the Arsenal medical staff at London Colney.

They also confirm the 6 week convalescence period.

Elsewhere in the Arsenal blog world:

Arseblog mentions, the silver lining is the pretty straightforward series of fixtures till Xmas other than Chelsea and Liverpool (both clubs have their injury woes too). Hopefully the 15 other goalscorers for Arsenal will step up. Maybe Song will add to the list and score four.

A Cultured Left Foot bemoans pointless friendlies which serve little purpose other than becoming repositories for the wounded.

Gunnerblog thinks its time for Eduardo to step up and points to his brace in the Croatia match as a positive sign.

Goodplaya also believes that Eduardo will come into his own and RVP's contribution although significant should be looked in the context of Arsenal's goal scoring wealth by others.

So we can all agree that friendlies are pointless and that RVP's absence will hurt but it is not as cataclysmic as feared. Go Gunners!
