I weep for the Newcastle fans who have to put up with this execrable name. How about MikeAshleydumbass@StJames'Park while we are at it?

I remember living in Miami when they renamed Joe Robbie stadium, home of Miami Dolphins as Pro Player Stadium which I thought was soulless but inoffensive. Now it is called LandShark Stadium. Yes, LandShark Stadium is the home of the Dolphins. Bizarre. The name sounds so apt for a greedy real estate developer. Which is what South Florida is all about. But even after all the renaming it was always Joe Robbie Stadium to me.

Ashley has been crass and will remain crass. So to the fans, you have a good manager in Chris Hughton and a group of players that are performing well under him. Hopefully, all this means a return to the Premiership which is most important. Even as you flinch when reading the name in the newspaper or hearing the name on the telly, remember it will always be St James Park. Once you enter the stadium, erase all doubts.
