This will be very difficult for the French team to live down. They have got a long, long 7 months to bear the brunt of criticism and scorn from, basically, everyone, everywhere (including their own countrymen.) France can be a great team again, but they have a HUGE challenge ahead of them, just from a psychological standpoint alone.
Sans Zidane, they will not do well. Zidane took them to another level.
Franck Ribery was supposed to take over. But he has been missing through injury. Now, they have Yoann Gourcuff but he is still gaining in experience. So there is no consistency in the attacking midfielder position as yet. But there is still 7 months to go. What they need is a good coach and Raymond Domenech is not the answer.
