Video: Europa League: Fulham’s European dream continues

No ‘Devilish Wolfsburg” moments here. Roy Hodgson had no occasion to utter “Typical Germans” either. Fulham continue their dream march to European glory as they beat Wolfsburg, 1-0 at the Volkswagen Arena.
Bobby Zamora kept the pressure on for an England call up with a superbly executed goal inside of the first 30 seconds. Man, have we seen some nifty back heels in the last week!
Kudos to Zoltan Gera – the ex- Baggie striker set up the goal nicely.
Edin Dzeko and Grafite, the Wolfsburg duo did not provide the necessary firepower till very late when Dzeko’s volley was turned away a fraction by Mark Schwarzer, the ball hitting the post. Grafite’s follow up was cleared off the line by Brede Hangeland.
Before that Simon Davies had a golden opportunity to add to Fulham’s tally but some superb goal keeping by Diego Benaglia denied him.
Fulham’s victims include defending champions Shakhtar Donetsk and Italian giants Juventus. Their attack has been extremely effective but behind them are an extremely disciplined defense and Mark Schwarzer in goal. Barring the Alexander Madlung away strike, there have been no “cheap goals” given up by the Cottagers.
