Marouane Chamakh's goal brought Bordeaux tantalizingly close to clinching a CL spot but the all important second goal proved elusive. Bordeaux were cheated out of a penalty as Chamakh brought down in the box by Cris by a clear push to his back.
The outstanding Hugo Lloris made a spectacular save right at the end managing to keep Wendel's powerful header out to deny Bordeaux.
