Motta was stupid but Sergio Busquets is proving to be a piece of work. I have no idea what Pep Guardiola sees in him. As a holding midfielder, he is well below Seydou Keita and Yaya Toure in talent and skill. Maybe a touch of Catalunyan favouritism.

I'm not defending Motta's foul- it was stupid. But Busquets reaction was over the top, which unfortunately fooled the referee into giving a straight red.
C'mon man, you can't discuss this. Motta makes a move with his left hand, and you can't say that's a natural move you make in that situation. It should'nt be directly red, that's true, but he already had a yellow card and he definitely deserved his second..
Thanks, Angie - keep reading! Yes, amidst all that wonderful football in the Liga, he really sticks out like a sore thumb.
I'm glad i'm not the only one who feels that way about Busquets. I'm a huge fan of Spanish football but that guy isn't all that. Embellishments & exaggerations happen but he does it all the time and they're so obvious it's pathetic.
PS - love this blog!
