According to the player's agent there has been a resolution in the salary negotiations with Real now set to pay the player a smaller amount, down from €7m to 5.5m per year. The agent, Caliendo is presently at the Bernabeu meeting with Real officials.
Now comes convincing Massimo Moratti to part with Maicon for less money. Inter is asking €28 m while Real is ready to pay €24m. Maicon's agent is optimistic that the deal will go through.
"Maicon's decision will be in two or three days, now it is up to Moratti to decide. I'm very optimistic that it will conclude positively."
Inter and Real are both on their US tour and according to AS.com, Mourinho and his former player continue to text each other almost daily. In another curious development Jerzy Dudek who wears the 13 number gave it up for wearing number 25, thus leaving 13 available which is what Maicon wears at Inter. It's all karma as they say.
