Anything remotely ruthless from an Arsenal player needs to be celebrated - so it will be great to see Sebastien Squillaci carry over the attitude that forced Sevilla to sell him onto the pitch.
He will have to compete for a center back position with Thomas Vermaelen, Laurent Koscielny, and Johan Djourou already on the roster.
This is a very good signing - we have someone who is famously combative, good at tackling and positional ability, and is no slouch when it comes to scoring on set pieces. Plus he brings a lot of experience at the age of 30.
In this move, I see a return to the days of defensive mettle that characterized Wenger's squads pre 2005.
