From the days of Denis Law, Bobby Charlton, and George Best the Man Utd dynasty had to wait 26 years to win their next top flight league title in the 1993 inaugural Premiership season. Sir Alex endured seven years of disappointment before he came up with that triumph.
Since then Utd has been almost automatic winning 12 more titles with the exception of Arsenal (3), Chelsea (3), and Blackburn (1). This montage links the last time Utd won the league under Sir Matt Busby and the Ferguson era. A generation missed out on the aura of invincibility that the club currently enjoys. A similar history echoed at Liverpool which in a paradoxical way looks to its arch rivals for succour.
