It is time to break away from FIFA

He maybe a bit of a fascist but he's made the IOC a cleaner organization

FIFA is imploding from within as each passing minute brings about more and more details of corruption with Jack Warner deciding to turn whistle blower. It's all a bit rich coming from a man who has millions profiting from his position within the FIFA hierarchy. But they're eating their own as they say.

He made public an email sent by Jerome Valcke, the FIFA general secretary sent stating Mohammed Bin Hammam "bought" Qatar the World Cup and questioning why the AFC chairman would even consider running for president.

" For MBH [Mohamad Bin Hammam], I never understood why he was running. If really he thought he had a chance or just being an extreme way to express how much he does not like anymore JSB [Joseph Sepp Blatter]."

" Or he thought you can buy Fifa as they [Qatar] bought the WC [World Cup]'."

Warner also made allegations that Sepp Blatter made a gift of $1m and computers to CONCACAF without the permission of the financial committee.

At this point FIFA has lost all moral authority over the global game. It is an unethical organization interested in keeping a small group of men in power at all cost so that they can continue to enrich themselves through a system of bribes and quid pro quo patronage. Sepp Blatter's unopposed re-election is all the proof we need that the system is rigged.

Dick Pound, who knows a few things about cleaning up house suggested breaking away from FIFA and putting together an organization that truly represents the sport. I would seriously consider introducing term limits and a rotating council of executives as a first step towards reform.
