May 26th: Today is a red letter day in Arsenal history

Twenty two years this day the league title hung in balance as Arsenal needed two goals to win against Liverpool at Anfield on the last day.

Alan Smith got them going but one goal was not going to be enough and as each tense moment ticked by it was looking like Liverpool had sealed league victory. But everything was to change in stoppage time as Michael Thomas burst through to score and pull the in one of the most dramatic finishes in football history.

It's a roll call of legends in a legendary moment. John Lukic- Lee Dixon- Nigel Winterburn- Tony Adams- Steve Bould- Paul Merson- David O'Leary- Kevin Richardson- David Rocastle - Alan Smith- Michael Thomas.

Looking at those names and at the Swiss cheese defense we've now. "Where did all the defense go? I don't know, I don't know."
