Man Utd bow out of the race for Nasri

Sir Alex says Samir Nasri is not joining Man Utd thus confirming Wenger's commitment not to sell to a rival. However, there is an increasing likelihood that the Arsenal manager might be willing to see Nasri's contract expire next year and risk losing him for free.

Nasri is presently in Malaysia as part of Arsenal's Asian tour which can be taken as a strong indicator of his continued career at the club. However, this being Sir Alex he was not willing to let go without introducing some doubt.

"I don't think he is coming to United," said Ferguson, who was speaking at the start of United's American tour.

"That is all I can tell you. I think he has agreed to go somewhere else."

Where to? Which of course should make for good tabloid fodder. Utd for their part will have to focus on Wesley Sneijder or Luka Modric to rebuild their midfield.
