Bursaspor's Teteh Bangura used his hand to flick the ball over the Anderlecht defender.The referee awarded a penalty to Bursaspor.
If we assume that the ref was trying to do his job as well as he could then why would he award a penalty when it should have been a free kick for the opposite team ?
After looking at the video a few times I think he saw the handball but just connected the hand to the wrong body.
But then he just got one look at what happened in real time.
No slow mo replays.
Can you blame him ?

well, without video technology these incidents will never stop, it is just the limitation of human eye
i remember once was refereeing a friendly game of friends .. the play was at one side, when i spotted two players (away from the ball) teasing each others,
i took a quick look, to be smart, to spot who is the bad player, then i heard a scream from the other direction (where i am not looking) two players were falling above each others, both screaming, and i just missed seeing the incident
i had nooooo clue what happened, i didnt call for any foul, and one player was looking so strangely to me lol
Referee can not run away from this one, he has an assistant, he did not take time to consult him. He could also look at players reaction, Anderlecht were complaining about something and Bursaspor blaming themselves for what happened.
