The abuse heaped at Emmanuel Adebayor by Arsenal fans was frankly revolting. Humanity loses when chants wish he too should have died in the Togo national team tragedy in last years ACN. It was a harrowing experience for Adebayor playing as the national captain and it led to Togo pulling out of the competition for which they were punished with a two year suspension. But the video above shows the holier than thou Spurs fans with their racist chants when Adebayor was at Real not half a year ago.
Two wrongs don't make a right and it is good that both clubs came out with a joint statement that condemns this sort of behaviour.
"Both clubs were extremely disappointed to hear the chants from supporters at yesterday's game. Neither club tolerates foul language, racist chanting, homophobic chanting or any anti-social behaviour from its supporters."
"We shall be working closely with each other to identify the individuals involved."
