Clint Dempsey is US player of the year

Clint Dempsey has been voted the Futbol de Primera USA national-team player of the year for the second time – the last time being way back in 2006.He got 375 points and 99 first place votes .The also rans were Tim Howard – second with 252 points and Landycakes – third with 191 points.
Dempsey scored four goals in 12 games in the U.S.A this year.That made it 23 goals in 80 international appearances.His goal for Fulham last week brought him level with Brian McBride for the most EPL goals scored by Americans.

  1. He total deserves this award – The guy works so hard for whatever soccer team he plays for. Not a prolific goal scorer but a work horse of note. Hope to see him in Brazil in 2014 !

  3. Dempsey is an inspiration to many young players here in the US. He seems to truly enjoy the game and has the support of his team.
    Thank you for the YouTube compilation. I like how he shows his joy after scoring. In my area of the US (Minnesota), one of our U8 players was recently yellow carded for “excessive celebration.” He “airplaned” after making a goal. I can see that celebration should be done in moderation and needs to be respectful (not gloating or taunting). However, not allowing any form of celebration is just not right.
