Arsenal's competition comes from Galatasaray and Lazio who also desire the FC Koln striker in top form this season. However, Poldi has singled out Arsenal for attention saying they are a top club.

"Arsenal are a top club. They are a good team and play in England at the top with ... "

His departure could be hastened as he's also reportedly fallen out with Volker Finke, the club's sporting director.

Poldi has about a year and a half left in his contract but these recent developments could see Koln willing to sell him. Reports on his valuation range from £10m to £19m but with the striker exerting pressure on his club to sell him they might be forced to negotiate the transfer fee for less which will suit Arsene Wenger just fine.

The German has scored 14 goals in 16 Bundesliga matches. Pairing him up with RVP up front will give ease the pressure on the Dutchman considerably to produce goals. Gervinho and Walcott have the ability to get into the box but as the last match against QPR showed, lack that composure in front of goal to be steady contributors.
