Spurs crashed to their third consecutive defeat in the post Harry Redknapp tax evasion era. They are no longer automatic to secure a Champions League spot. It was former Ranger, Nikica Jelavic driving home a clever Leon Osman cutback. Everton then defended in numbers in the second half as Spurs swarmed every square inch. The Goodison Park faithful held their breath in a tense and testy finish.
