An excellent Blas Perez and crap defending by the Red Bulls saw them lose their MLS opener to FC Dallas.

Perez, the Panamanian signing was instrumental in creating both goals for Dallas while Kenny Cooper, the record goalscorer for his old club, scored on debut for Red Bulls to pull one back.

Thierry Henry left his mark almost scoring a quick witted goal of a free kick and then laying a measured ball for Cooper to race through for his goal. Ryan Meara, the Red Bulls goalie had an excellent debut saving at least three goals. What an improvement on Bouna Condoul.
