Toronto FC shock LA Galaxy, 2-1 (4-3 agg) in the CCL

Yesterday, Toronto FC advanced to the CONCACAF Champions League semi-finals beating heavily favoured LA Galaxy. The first leg was tied, 2-2 after Toronto FC squandered a two goal lead.

This time around Ryan Johnson made sure he and Toronto had the last laugh after scoring a brace. Robbie Keane was able to get a goal back but the real story is the Canadian side's first ever entry to the semi-finals of the tournament. With Seattle drubbed 6-1 by a Santos Laguna side, Toronto is the only MLS team remaining.

The Galaxy were left stunned. Becks after the match: "Tonight's a disappointing night because we didn't expect to lose the game, we didn't think we were going to lose the game, we didn't want to lose the game, so we're disappointed."

Hey, if you guys weren't so smitten with your own arrogance you would have seen this coming.

Part of the problem was the Galaxy's poor defending allowing Johnson to score at will and the other part was not capitalizing on their chances. But full marks to TFC pulling off this historic victory.
