Papiss Demba Cisse is the best winter transfer maybe of all times in the Premier League. Exaggeration? 7 matches, 7 goals. He's scored three winners already against Aston Villa on his debut, Norwich, and Liverpool today. And to top it they have all been easy on the eye.

Andy Carroll continues to toil and really made a meal of a golden opportunity against his former club as he dove with Tim Krul about a yard away from contact. What was going on in that head? None of the answers look good and Martin Atkinson gave him a yellow.

Hatem Ben Arfa again proved to be the catalyst. The Frenchman when he feels like it can tear apart a defense and he was responsible for both chances. In Papiss Cisse, the Toons have found a clinical finisher.

Liverpool's league misery went past breaking point as Pepe Reina reacted badly to James Perch's tripping him up and head butted him in a rush of blood. Off went the goalie in the 82nd minute. Newcastle on the other hand are just three points from Arsenal clinging to their third spot. They have won three straight and look dangerous.
