Marco Fabian was the standout player scoring a goal and assisting in Alan Pulido's goal as Mexico brushed aside Canada in the CONCACAF region semi-finals to qualify for the London Olympics. El Tri also added insurance from Miguel Angel Ponce after Canada had leveled the score through Marcus Haber's header.

Honduras beat El Salvador in the other semi-finals, 3-2 in overtime to take the second qualifying spot. Mexico and Honduras meet each other on Monday to decide the winner of the CONCACAF tournament.
