A reminder that Gervinho can score and this was a pretty spectacular goal. Why he can't do it in an Arsenal shirt is a mystery. But as Jonathan Wilson suggests, it has to do with a mental fragility which seems to be the norm in a squad that is short of composure and poise. Hopefully, the AFCON gives Gervinho a boost because it looks like Arsene Wenger is not going to add to the squad.

Unni, all very true. But then you have the display against West Ham where they looked omnipotent for about 10 decisive minutes. And you come away wondering why Arsenal don't play to their capabilities more often. They need to score as much as possible because that defense doesn't really hold up to a more incisive attack. They need one more striker and a top rated holding midfielder.
Gervinhos a top player in my opinion.

Feedback would be fantastic.
This is what Guardian wrote about him a while ago :
And then there is the question of Gervinho. The Ivory Coast international often looks like an embarrassed teenager on an early sexual encounter; he's scoring, yet most of his time is spent fumbling around without really knowing what to do. But who could come in ahead of him? Olivier Giroud, who has been poor so far? Or the ever inconsistent Theo Walcott? Either way, there is plenty for Wenger to ponder. IMC
