Manchester United v. Real Madrid 1999/2000 by Przemek_1991

Roy Keane's own goal was an early set back. Raul stuck a dagger with his curling shot. The best bit was Fernando Ronando's phenomenal backheel going past Henning Berg to enter the box and finding Raul for his brace. Madrid were up three just like that.

Utd fought back through David Beckham's stunning goal and as the minutes tick down, Steve McManaman bundles over Keane in the box and Pierluigi Collina has no hesitation pointing to the spot. Paul Scholes posts the consolation but its Madrid through to the semi-finals. They were eventual winners, the eighth such honour with Raul top scoring with 10 goals. Ah, but Redondo, what an artist and he did it all with his left foot! Like someone else going through a bit of a rough patch right now, eh?
