Ryan Giggs has been tearing everyone apart since 1991
Has there been any player more inextricably linked, it's genetic, with a club's fortunes over the years than Ryan Giggs with Man Utd? The minutest scrutiny reveals no difference in these identical twins. Alfredo Di Stefano might have a few words to say about his association with Real Madrid and Pele with Santos, but Giggs is right there in the pantheon of those gods, certainly incomparable in the modern era.
He is set to make his 1000th appearance for club and country, against Norwich today. And the scariest part is he looks good for another 1000 more. Giggs joined Utd in 1991 and along the way, he's notched up 12 Premier League titles, four FA Cups, as well as three League Cups and two Champions League titles in 931 appearances for his club. In addition, he earned 64 caps for the Wales national team, plus four more as Team GB's captain at the 2012 Summer Olympics for a total of 999 matches played.
A tip of the hat, a pint of the finest to the man, a legend.
