Gareth Bale’s Disruptive Economics

The chart shows us the characteristic “hockey stick” curve that makes exponential growth unstoppable. First global warming temperatures, now Gareth Bale. Why would anyone pay £85.3m ($132,709,740 USD) for a player, even if they happen to be Welsh?  Last year in the Premier League, Bale made 33 league appearances and scored 21 goals from 133 shots.  Apparently he had a better pass completion rate than both Ronaldo and Messi as well.
