Chile miners in powerful new World Cup Ad

The 33 miners who were trapped for 69 days after their mine collapsed in 2010 return to the Atacama desert
69 days is the longest amount of time in history that anyone has survived underground before being rescued.

Towards the end of the commercial, the miners collect sand from the desert into jars, and plan to send it to the Chilean World Cup team so they can pour it onto the pitch before every match.
Sepulveda says: “My message to our Chile team is that we’re going to win. They have the talent and a whole country behind them and they must battle until the end. There are harder things in life and you can conquer them. Chile will not only pass to the second round, but it will surprise everyone.”

The miners pick up sand from the desert which will be taken to Brazil and spread on the turf where Chile play their matches.
