The swiss locked their goal area down as securely as any swiss vault could ever be locked.Argentina pounded away at the defence for the entire length of the game and up to two minutes from the end of extra time.
Then Messi ( who else) threaded the ball through a narrow keyhole between two very tired Swiss guards and Angel di Maria was able to unlock the vault at last.
There was more drama to follow however.About 10 seconds after they had conceded the goal the swiss were in the Argetina penalty area. Their shot hit the post,bounced out and hit a swiss forward who was about 3 feet away from an open goal and then bounced out.
Sometimes it boils down to sheer dumb bad luck.The Mexicans had their share the other day.The Swiss had it today.
They should have got an equaliser.But that ball bounced out.

Argentina was struggling to score a single goal because of strong defense of Switzerland but eventually Angel di Maria scored a brilliant goal with the Messi assist and helped to put their team into the quarterfinals and pushed Switzerland out from the WC.
