Christoph Kramer admits that he cannot remember anything about his performance in the World Cup final after his head hit Ezequiel Garay’s shoulder in the first half of the victory over Argentina.
“Shortly after the blow, Kramer came to the ref Nicola Rizzoli asking: ‘Ref, is this the final?’” Nicola Rizzoli continued… “I thought he was joking and made him repeat the question and then he said: ‘I need to know if this is really the final.’ When I said: ‘Yes,’ he concluded: ‘Thanks, it was important to know that.’”
Which raises serious questions about whether players with head injuries should be allowed to play on.
Luis Suarez is now regretting that he did not claim temporary amnesia after his front teeth hit Giorgio Chiellini’s shoulder in that other infamous shouder incident….!
