La Liga: Real Sociedad stun Real Madrid, 4-2

david-vs-goliath

In the unfolding transfer deadline madness, a seismic event when relatively unnoticed. Real Madrid, was cast aside by Real Sociedad yesterday, in a match the CL champions thought locked up after Sergio Ramos and Garth Bale had given them a comfortable two goal cushion. Sociedad, finishing 7th last season then produced four unanswered goals. David Zurutuza scored twice after Inigo Martinez started the comeback and former Arsenal starlet, Carlos Vela off the bench finished off with a fourth. No, Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t on the pitch. But Madrid fell apart because of its Swiss cheese defending. Sergio Ramos and Marcelo, in particular were just inept. See third goal for reference.
