Man City breach Hull despite Mangala’s gifts

Manchester City v Chelsea - Barclays Premier League
Eliaquim Mangala destroys Diego Costa. That was last weekend. This weekend, not so good.

Funny thing football, especially the Premier League variety. One weekend a hero, the next one a butt of a joke. Eliaquim Mangala debuted to a standing ovation after his Hulk smash performance against Chelsea last Sunday, setting off visions of a brawny partnership with Vincent Kompany at the heart of defense. From Mangalactico to Mangalamaniac against Hull. An own goal and then conceding a penalty after fouling Abel Hernandez. Hull were back on equal terms erasing Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko’s two goal lead. City had to look to Dzeko and the Bosnian was on point to add to his season opener. Lampard finished off Hull with his third goal in three matches. Legal or illegal, Lampard seems to be scoring which is what City cares about.
