Fabienne Humm scored a 5 minute hat trick for Switzerland so she got her name into the record books.
Angie Ponce also got her name into the record books by scoring a hat trick of sorts for Ecuador.
She scored two own goals and one penalty – which technically makes that a hat trick of goals scored by her in the game.
The gap in quality in the teams raises the question of why FIFA has expanded the tournament to include teams which clearly are not able to compete at this level.
Germany beat Ivory Coast 10 – 0 the other day.
Not much fun for anyone to watch games in which one team completely outclasses the other.
