1899 Hoffenheim’s Kevin Volland equalled the record for the fastest Bundesliga goal ever.The goal scored 9 seconds after kickoff equalled Bayer Leverkusen’s Karim Bellarabi against Borussia Dortmund last August.
David Alaba was largely responsible for the goal.He sent a misguided back pass skidding across the goal mouth which Volland pounced upon and put away – leaving Manuel Neuer beating the ground in despair.
Bayern Munich have not lost to Hoffenheim in the last 14 games and they did not lose this one either- they eventually won 2 -1 with goals goals from Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski.
However David Alaba is not going to remember with joy his contribution towards getting his team into the record books for the wrong reason.
