A huge crowd of 44,028 at Heinz Field witnessed the Women’s World Cup champs, the USA kick off their celebration tour by decimating Costa Rica, 8-0.

Heinz Field is better known as the home field for the 6 time Super Bowl champions Pittsburgh Steelers. Pennsylvania native Meghan Klingenberg celebrated her goal by twirling a “terrible towel”, a Steeler tradition after collecting it from coach Jill Ellis on the sidelines. Christen Press scored a hattrick as Ellis using all her substitutions gave 17 players playing minutes. Julie Johnston scored a signature header. Veteran Heather O’Reilly scored a brace.
