Arsenal picked up an injury early in the game which made it look like that he would be taken off soon.Then,going from looking as if he had no further part to play,he suddenly became the hero of the night.
He scored his first hat-trick for the club which ensured Arsenal’s safe passage – because victory by a smaller margin would not have been good enough.The minimum needed was a 2 – 0 win but Giroud went one better.
