For the first time in their history Manchester City qualified for the quarter finals of the Champion’s League.
The qualification came after a dour draw with Dynamo Kiev and on the strenght of their 3 -1 victory in the first leg.
But the victory came at the cost of their two best defenders – Vincent Kompany and Nicolas Otamendi were both injured and so Pellegrini’s joy,if any, will be pretty muted.
