Fifa gets its first ever female secretary general

Fatma-Samoura-United-Nations-Resident-Coordinator
Fifa has appointed UN official Fatma Samoura to be its first ever female secretary general.
She will replace Jerome Valkcke who has been banned from football-related activities for 12 years.
Ms Samoura has worked for the United Nations for 21 years, where she has served as a country representative and as a director in six different African countries, including Nigeria.
This is the first major change initiated by Infantino in his attempt to bring Fifa back from the scandals and corruption.

Nobody can change the past but I can shape the future,” Infantino told his first FIFA Congress as president.
FIFA is back on track. So I can officially inform you here, the crisis is over.
She is expected to start work at its Zurich headquarters in mid-June after clearing an eligibility process.
Meanwhile, the organisation swelled to 211 members after Gibraltar and Kosovo were admitted in time for European qualifying for the 2018 World Cup.
In other changes announced at the 66th congress FIFA grants for development projects went from $400,000 per year for each member association to $1.25 million.
While we desperately hope that the worst of the Blatter days are over, there are voices of concern about the fact that Infantino, for all his appearance of guileless innocence, has by appointing Fatma Samoura, given himself more power than Blatter ever had.
