Arnor Traustason’s goal deep into stoppage time helped Iceland beat Austria 2-1 and send Iceland joyously into the round of 16.The game was tied at one goal at each and Austria threw everything they had at Iceland in search for the winning goal.In the dying seconds of the game,with most of the Austrian team in the the other half,Iceland got one last opportunity to run at the opposite goal.
And they scored before the Austrian defence could get back.

Elsewhere in the group Portugal earned a 3-3 draw with Hungary after two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and was in line for second in the group until Traustason gave Iceland this first and most unexpected and thrilling win.
Portugual were pipped at the post and dropped to third place.However they still go through to the round of 16 because the rules allow the four best placed third place teams to qualify.
Slovakia, Portugal, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland thus also make it to the next round.
